Mermaids ashore at Mare Island for women empowerment runs

A welcoming, inspiring environment for women was up and running at Mare Island on Saturday morning.
Hundreds of participants of all ages soaked up the sunshine, colorful costumes and a few healthy dashes during the Island’s first Mermaid Series run.
Mermaid Series owner and operator Carlo Facchino says it is a platform for women to pursue new goals in fitness and in life, as well as providing a positive and encouraging environment that inspires all of the athletes to cross the finish line.
